With pre-race instructions to sit third or fourth in the running, Prize Exhibit was a little tardy from the gates and as a result, found herself at the rear of the field with a big task in front of her. Finishing off strongly over the mile, Prize Exhibit ran away to a two-and-a-quarter length victory. You can watch the filly's impressive performance byclicking here.
Sold off the back of a Group Three placing in the Oh So Sharp Stakes at two in England, Prize Exhibit relocated to the USA where she lined up in the Group One Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf finishing a creditable fourth. She returned at three with a win first-up and has been knocking on the door at stakes level in three starts since finishing fourth in both the Group Three Providencia Stakes and the Group Two Honeymoon Stakes and a fast finishing fifth in the Penn Oaks at her last start. This weekend's win saw her become Showcasing's fourth stakes winner from his first Northern Hemisphere crop.
Showcasing entered quarantine in England last week in preparation for his fifth season in New Zealand and will be settling in here at Haunui at the beginning of August. Set to be crowned Champion 2YO and First Season Sire, he will stand at a fee of $10,000 + GST and will serve a limited book of 125 mares.
