Another UK winner for Showcasing

Darryl Sherer - Wednesday July 1

Shuttle-stallion Showcasing added another winner to his record on Tuesday when Tasleet scored at Chepstow in England.

ShowcasingOwned by Sheikh Hamdan, Tasleet started odds-on for the 2YO EBF Maiden Stakes (6 fur.) following an encouraging fourth on his debut and always looked in control here.

Reaching the lead two furlongs out, Tasleet accelerated clear to score by three lengths over Bear Faced with Danecase, another son of Showcasing, staying on for third.

Tasleet is the third winner for his dam Bird Key, a daughter of champion sprinter Cadeaux Genereux, and a half-sister to Group II Doncaster Champagne Stakes winner Etlaala (Selkirk) and the stakes placed performers Selective (Selkirk) and Button Moon (Compton Place).

Tasleet's victory follows on from the Grade III win of Prize Exhibit at Santa Anita for her sire at the weekend.

Showcasing entered quarantine in England last week in preparation for his fifth season in New Zealand at Haunui Stud.

The son of European Champion Sprinter Oasis Dream is set to be champion sire of two-year-olds and first-season sire in New Zealand this season with four winners of $NZ682,978 including the Group II Wakefield Challenge Stakes winner Showboy.

Showcasing will stand at $NZ10,000 plus GST and limited to 125 mares in 2015.
