Seven-time New Zealand Group One winner Seachange is in Australia where she will be covered by Fastnet Rock this season.
Owner-breeders The Oaks Stud confirmed the two-time New Zealand Horse of the Year left for Australia earlier this week on its website.
The daughter of Cape Cross won 14 of her 28 races, notably the New Zealand 1000 Guineas, the Telegraph Handicap, Waikato Draught Sprint, and back-to-back runnings of both the Mudgway Partsworld Stakes and Stoney Bridge Stakes - all at Group I level.
The 12-year-old has had one foal to race. Divan, a three-year-old son of Zabeel, trained by Robert Hickmott for the Williams family and Seachange's owner Dick Karreman.
An impressive winner over 1400m at Sandown Park last August, Divan was placed in the Listed VRC Anzac Day Stakes (1410m) on debut but disappointed at his only other start in the Listed Exford Plate (1400m) at Flemington last year.
Her first foal is also by Zabeel and also trained by Robert Hickmott. Thornton has had two official Barrier trials but is yet to race.
Seachange produced a filly foal by Darci Brahma last spring and is in foal to the same stallion, due to foal in September.
