Waller outlaid 100,000 guineas for Soviet Courage (IRE) who's only win in seven starts came in a 10 furlong maiden at Goodwood.
The former William Haggas trained gelding is a son of Cheveley Park Stud's overachieving stallion Dutch Art (pictured).
Himself a son of another Cheveley Park resident Medicean (Machiavellian), Dutch Art made just 16,000 guineas when sold as a yearling.
He proved a rare bargain, winning all four of his starts at two including the Group 1Prix Morny and the Group 1 Middle Park Stakes, after which he was sold to his present home.
Although he did not win at three, Dutch Art (pictured) proved himself top-class, placing in the Group 1 July Stakes, Group 1 Prix Maurice de Gheest and Group 1 2000 Guineas before heading off to stud.
He covered at a modest £5,000 but his initial success can be gauged by his 2015 fee of £40,000.
Not surprisingly, the vast majority of Dutch Art's progeny have been sprinters led by the Diamond Jubilee Stakes winner Slade Power and the Prix Maurice de Gheest winner Garswood.
Soviet Courage is out of the Rock Of Gibraltar (IRE) mare Place de Moscou, a half-sister to two stakes-winners including Parisienne (Distant Relative) the granddam of Protectionist.
Place de Moscou is a daughter of the superbly bred Sadler's Wells mare Poughkeepsie who's dam Pawneese was the Champion 3yo filly in Europe in 1976 with wins in the Epsom Oaks, French Oaks and King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes.
Soviet Courage took some time to find his best form in Australia, breaking through at his sixth start in a benchmark 75 over 2600 metres at Randwick at his most recent start on June 20.
He meets a similar field in Saturday's More Than Ready @ Vinery handicap (2400m) at Rosehill Gardens where he will once again be partnered by Glyn Schofield.
