The 2yo gelding trotted up in a Bendigo maiden at his most recent start and with Linda Meech in the saddle once again he was even more impressive here.
"I thought he could win but I was surprised with how he did it. He's a pretty impressive little fella," Widdison said.
The Group I Caulfield Guineas is on the radar and Widdenson said a trip to Sydney for the Golden Rose is also under consideration.
"We have got a bit of an opinion of him so he probably has a little bit of a freshen up now and target something in the spring," Widdison said.
"I always thought he'd probably get out to 14(00m) or a mile. He'll be nominated for the Guineas and well just let him tell us and see how he measures up."
"He won't have long out He might have a two or three week freshen up and do something in the pool or the paddock."
"He's pretty bombproof and does everything right. You have got to pull yourself up sometimes and realise that he's only a two-year-old. He does everything like an older horse."
Retained to race by his breeders, Green Card is the first foal of stakes-placed Testa Rossa mare Cristallo, who comes from the family of Group I winners Dr Grace, Asia and Calveen.
Cristallo has a yearling colt and a weanling colt by the Group I VRC Emirates Stakes winner All American and was bred back to Casino Prince last year.
Al American stands at the reduced fee this year of $11,000.
