Well
bred first season sire Al Aseel produced his first winner with just his second runner
at Canberra on Sunday.
Miss Liffey was having her first start when comfortable winner in the 1000m
maiden over Unyielding I Am Invincible) and Erika (Blackfriars).
She's the ninth foal of City Liffey who is also the dam of 2008 Canberra Black
Opal Stakes winner Sarthemare.
Al Aseel is the result of the mating of US based stallion Forestry with former
top class sprinting mare Shamekha.
Sold for $250,000 as a yearling he raced just six times before retirement and
he now stands at Meringo Stud at a fee of $1,100.
