The Group III victory at Caulfield on Saturday by Miss Promiscuity capped a double on the day for her Victorian-based sire Magnus.
The Mick Price-trained Volcanic Ash finished strongly to win the Mypunter Handicap over 1400m for three-year-olds while Sir Mask and Magna Rossa were both placed at Caulfield earlier in the day.
It was the victory of Miss Promiscuity in the Sir John Monash Stakes (1100m) however that gave Magnus his eighth stakes winner from 226 runners.
Allowed to settle just behind the moderate early speed set by Angels Beach and Wild Rain, Dwayne Dunn presented Miss Promiscuity ($12) to challenge around the home turn and she lengthened well to go clear and defeat Wild Rain ($11) and Angels Beach ($6.50), who dead-heated for second, by 2-3/4 lengths.
Dunn said the four-year-old was always travelling well.
"As soon as I put the foot on the accelerator she put the others away pretty quick," Dunn said.
"It's a good result for the owners to get some black type with her and she's shown today she's a top quality filly."
Miss Promiscuity (pictured) is the second stakes winner for Magnus out of a mare by Distant Music after the Adelaide Guineas winner Alpha Beat, making the pair inbred to Mr Prospector.
Magnus was represented by a Class I winner in Hong Kong last Wednesday when the Caspar Fownes-trained I'm In Charge comfortably disposed of quality opposition including Frederick Engels and Not Listenin'tome in the High Autonomy Handicap over 1200m.
Magnus will cover the 2015 season at Eliza Park International at a fee of $16,000 plus GST.
