Prepared by Jason Warren, The Barrister scored a dominant front running win in
the Listed ATC Fernhill Handicap at Randwick during the autumn carnival and was
a brave fifth in the Group I ATC Champagne Stakes beaten less than two lengths by
Pasadena Girl.Warren was hoping The Barrister would be a good replacement this spring for his former stable star Bel Sprinter.
"It's a shame to lose the best replacement I had for Bel Sprinter, but good money was offered and the owners have done really well out of the horse," Warren said.
A $110,000 Inglis Easter purchase for his trainer from the Widden Stud draft, The Barrister has won over $165,000 for his owners and is the second winner for Group III winning Desert Sun (GB) mare Strikeline.
A Group I winner at two and three, Star Witness has plenty of progressive types coming through for the new season with talented fillies Kimberley Star, Serenade and Pearl Star all showing promise.
