Entered
for the $1million Group I ATC Golden Rose in September, two year-old Manhattan
Rain gelding Man of Choice took the easier option of heading to Kembla on
Saturday for the Luke Price stable and emerged with a win.
Man of Choice was fifth on debut at his only previous run at Warwick Farm back
in March behind Redzel, with Saturday's impressive Rosehill winner Japonisme
second in the same race.
Given time to find his feet back in the field by Peter Wells, Man of Choice powered
home from near last with a long sustained run to score a very impressive long
neck win over a handy field of 13.
A $60,000 Magic Millions purchase for Realrosy Pty Ltd from the Newhaven Park
draft, Man of Choice was foaled and raised at Newhaven Park for Wilkes
Thoroughbreds and Galaxy Breeding Syndicate.
Man of Choice is the second winner for metropolitan winning Redoute's Choice
mare Moonsong, a daughter of Group I placed Moon Magic from the family of Group
I winners Ofcourseican, Gimmethegreenlight.
Interestingly, he is the third winner from seven runners for young Encosta de Lago
sire Manhattan Rain that are bred from mares sired by his half-brother Redoute's
Choice.
Moonsong is due to foal this spring to Newhaven Park's promising young sire
Delago Deluxe, another son of champion sire Encosta de Lago.
