Rothesay Charges Home!

Tara Madgwick - Friday July 31
GLENLOGAN PARK'S exciting young sire ROTHESAY finished the last day of the racing season with yet another first time 2YO winner, capping off a remarkable late season charge for the blue-blooded son of Fastnet Rock.

The Bryan Guy trained Fogoso became the 16th individual 1st crop winner for Rothesay, 14 of those in Australia, to add to the extraordinary run that has seen him power up both the 1st Season Sire and National 2YO Sire tables.

Rothesay will therefore not only be crowned Australia's Leading First Season Sire by winners, but he will also finish in the Top 5 2YO Sires in Australia by winners; with Not A Single Doubt, Snitzel, I Am Invincible and Exceed And Excel filling the Top 4 positions.

"To say that we are both thrilled and very proud would be a real understatement," Glenlogan's Manager Steve Morley said.

"We have always said that Rothesay is very typical of his sire and, just like the Fastnet's, we expect his progeny to improve with age.

"So to have just those four exceptionally precocious producing sires finish in front of him is a real feather in his cap and a great indicator as to just how bright his future will be."
