Arrowfield and Coolmore Lead Inglis Stakes Honours

Inglis graduates rounded off a stellar 2014/2015 racing season, having won a total of 189 black-type races internationally. 18 individual Inglis graduates saluted in 27 Group 1 races across the world, with Arrowfield Stud leading the Vendors' Table having bred and sold three Group 1 winners: Wandjina, Majmu and Hot Snitzel.

WandjinaArrowfield Stud, which this year is celebrating its 30th year of establishment in the Hunter Valley, soldWandjina (Snitzel x La Bamba)(pictured) to James Harron Bloodstock for $1 million at the 2013 Inglis Easter Yearling Sale, marking the first yearling by their hot resident sire Snitzel to make seven figures. The colt went on to win the Group 1 Australian Guineas and secure his right to stand at Newgate Stud this spring.

The Arrowfield-sold South African star fillyMajmu (Redoute's Choice x Spontaneous)continued to impress in her three-year-old year winning three of her six starts, two at Group 1 level.

Finally,Hot Snitzel (Snitzel x Flames Of Paris), a $60,000 buy won the Group 1 BRC BTC Cup for Triple Crown Syndications and a large group of owners. This tough gelding has now earned in excess of $1,260,000.

"Inglis congratulates John Messara and the whole Arrowfield Stud team on a tremendous season, both on the racetrack with their three Inglis sold Group 1 winners, and in the sale ring where they topped this year's Inglis Easter Sale vendors list," said Inglis' Managing Director Mark Webster.

"With 17 farms represented by Group 1 winning Inglis graduates across the globe, greatness has been achieved in both the sales ring and on the track since August last year, " added Webster

Leading the table by both Inglis stakes-winners and stakes-wins is Coolmore Stud, having sold nine individual stakes winners through Inglis sales that have saluted in 15 black-type races last season.

MagicoolSon of Coolmore's resident Champion Fastnet Rock,Magicool (ex Perfect Truth)led the charge for Inglis-sold Coolmore graduates taking out the Group 1 BRC Queensland Derby, with Lumosty, Sabatini and Petrology among the multiple stakes-winners in 2014/15.

Edinglassie Stud and Widden Stud each sold seven Inglis stakes-winners that notched up nine stakes-wins across the season, led by Group 2 winnerDeep Fieldand Group 1 Oakleigh Plate winner and Royal Ascot attendeeShamal Windrespectively.

Special mention must go to Turangga Farm, whose 2011 Inglis Easter graduateAble Friend (Shamardal x Ponte Piccolo)has had an amazing season, taking out four Group 1 races in Hong Kong before being invited to represent his connections at the famous Royal Ascot meeting in June.

A $550,000 purchase for George Moore Bloodstock, Able Friend has earned in excess of HK$52,000,000 (A$9,150,000) for his owners Dr & Mrs Cornel Li Fook Kwan and under the guidance of his highly accomplished trainer John Moore was awarded Hong Kong Horse Of The Year.

"With the help of multiple Group 1 winners including Able Friend, Brazen Beau, Sacred Star, Majmu, Mongolian Khan, Trust In A Gust and Alboran Sea, Inglis graduates have continued to fly the flag high for Australian-bred produce across the world, including saluting in The Australian, Hong Kong, New Zealand and Macau Derbies – a record that every vendor should be proud of," concluded Webster.

Other farms to have offered a recent Group 1 winner with Inglis are Murrulla Stud (Brazen Beau), Attunga Stud (Sacred Star), Berkeley Park Stud (Chautauqua), Grenville Stud (Mongolian Khan), Swettenham Stud (Trust In A Gust), Eliza Park International (Pasadena Girl), Milburn Creek Thoroughbreds (Hampton Court), Willow Park Stud (Cosmic Endeavour), Strawberry Hill Stud (Fenway), Vinery Stud (Entisaar), Rosemont Stud (Alboran Sea) and Mill Park Stud (Fawkner).
