Progressive
stayer Magic Hurricane (IRE) scored his first Black Type victory when taking
out the Listed ATC Premier's Cup at Rosehill on Saturday.
Imported to Australia with a couple of wins at Haydock and Kempton Park to his
credit, the six year-old son of Hurricane Run has blossomed in the care of John
O'Shea for Godolphin.
He won first up in June at Randwick, before finishing fourth and third at his
next two runs before stepping up to the more suitable distance of 1800 metres.
He finished too well for the favourite Silverball (Fr) to score a short head
win and will now look to step further up the grades as he is entered for the
Group I MRC Caulfield Cup and ATC The Metropolitan in October.
Magic Hurricane (pictured Steve Hart) is the best of four winners from unraced Danehill mare Close
Regards, from the family of German Derby winner Lucky Speed.
