Another Foxwedge Trial Winner

Newgate Farm's foundation sire Foxwedge posted another impressive trial winner at Rosehill on Tuesday morning and will have his first race day runners in Brisbane this Saturday.

A half-sister to brilliant mare Echo Gal, the Bjorn Baker trained filly Glamour Gal showed plenty of natural pace and a good attitude in winning her 900 metre heat by a short neck.

A $130,000 Magic Millions purchase, Glamour Gal was bred by Bob Hannon of Shamus Award fame and is the second foal of his stakes-placed Encosta de Lago mare Pink Siris.

FoxwedgeA brilliant juvenile himself, Foxwedge has had a raft of talented youngsters showing up at the early trials and will have his first two runners at Doomben on Saturday.

A $180,000 Magic Millions purchase, two year-old Foxwedge gelding Vulpini will make his debut in the colts and geldings juvenile plate for Gold Coast trainer Melissa Leitch.

An explosive trial winner at the Gold Coast, he has drawn ideally in gate two.

A $115,000 Magic Millions purchase, the Kelly Schweida trained filly She's a Foxy Lady pleased in her only trial and will take her place against the fillies from gate seven.

Foxwedge has been very well supported in his first three seasons at stud and is proving popular again this year at a fee of $27,500.
