Thinking Big

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday September 30
This exciting three year-old filly is shaping as one of the best in the country this season and buyers have a unique opportunity next week to purchase something just like her.

Miss Gunpowder - Grant CourtneyBred and offered for sale by Think Big Stud, Pendragon filly Miss Gunpowder fetched $60,000 at the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale for her trainer Phillip Stokes and has proven to be an inspired purchase.

With three wins and a third from four starts and prizemoney nearing $200,000, Miss Gunpowder confirmed her potential when scoring an all the way in the Group III MRC Guineas Prelude at Caulfield last Saturday.

She was one of three winners last Saturday for her Think Big Stud based sire Pendragon, a quiet achiever with over 40 winners on the board.

The Think Big nursery also produced the Breednet One to Watch of the day last Sunday when exciting Street Cry (IRE) colt Iron Boss charged home to win as he pleased at Geelong for the Mark Kavanagh stable.

A $475,000 Inglis Easter purchase, Iron Boss is entered in all the big spring staying majors for three year-olds and is the first foal of dual Group I winning filly Faint Perfume, who was also raised at Think Big.

Also showing promise is the Mike Moroney trained High Chaparral (IRE) filly Wichita Woman, who finished second at Ballarat over a mile on Wednesday and is entered for the Group I VRC Oaks. A $110,000 Inglis Easter purchase from the Think Big draft, she is bred to stay all day being from the Zabeel mare Zahani.

Think Big Stud will present a draft of eight youngsters for the Inglis Star Ready2Race Sale next week (October 6) offering a great opportunity to buy quality youngsters from a proven source of stakes performers.

The draft features five geldings and three colts, seven of them by Miss Gunpowder's sire Pendragon and one by Prince Arthur and to see the full draft with pedigrees, images and breeze up video click here.

Last year Think Big sold promising three year-old Happy Cash at this sale and he has now three races and placed at his other two runs in Macau for trainer MC Tam.

Highlights this year include:

Lot 30 Pendragon colt from Margobelle, the dam of seven winners headed by stakes-winner Wells Street.
