New Salering for NZB South Island Sale

Media Release - Friday October 9

The New Zealand Bloodstock National Yearling Sales Series: South Island Session will have a change of venue for 2016, with the sale ring now being located in the Riding for the Disabled Building at the Canterbury Agricultural Park in Christchurch. In conjunction with the Canterbury, Marlborough, Westland & Otago branch of the New Zealand Thoroughbred Breeders Association,

New Zealand Bloodstock has taken the opportunity to move from the existing location of the Canterbury Sale Yards Pavilion to the new, superior venue for the selling of horses entered in the South Island Sale.

"This high class venue is a very positive step forward for not only the Sale, but for the whole South Island breeding and racing industry," commented Gus Wigley, the Southern Region Councillor of the NZTBA. "We feel the new venue will present the Sale at an international level and will showcase our horses in the best possible light.

"Vendors and buyers attending the Sale will be impressed with the new sale ring's professionalism and user-friendliness."

This change has been a collaborative effort between New Zealand Bloodstock and the South Island breeders and vendors, which augurs well for the support of the sale.

"The move to the new venue is going to bring a great improvement in the sales experience for vendors and buyers alike," commented NZB Operations Manager James Jennings.

"The building is in close proximity to the stable complex which means the distance from the stable complex to the sale ring has been greatly reduced from the previous set-up. Both horses and clients will be able to easily transition between the two locations.

"The sales experience of potential buyers will also be enhanced by the venue enabling the sale ring, parade ring, sale day office and hospitality outlets to be brought under one roof.

"The proactive approach by all involved to improve the Sale is commendable. We also thank the Canterbury Agricultural Park Management for their continued support of the Sale.

"We look forward to conducting the new look South Island Sale in 2016 which we are sure will be enjoyed by those who attend."

The 2016 National Yearling Sales Series: South Island Session will take place on 15 April 2016 at the Canterbury Agricultural Park in Christchurch.
