Former
brilliant General Nediym juvenile Sidereus posted his first winner at the Gold
Coast on Wednesday when Burn Notice did everything right and strode clear for a
good win.
Showing the benefit of race experience after finishing fifth on debut at
Doomben on October 3, the Mark Webb trained colt jumped well, found the front on
the fence and led throughout to win the 900 metre scamper by three lengths.
A $28,000 Magic Millions March Yearling Sale purchase from the Oaklands Stud
draft, Burn Notice is the first foal of Flammable, a metro winning juvenile half-sister
by Ferocity to stakes-placed Matador.
Winner of the Group II STC Pago Pago Stakes at two, Sidereus stands at Oaklands
Stud in Queensland at a fee of $6,600 and has a good sized crop of some 70 two year-olds
to run for him this season.
