Champion trainer Chris Waller has elected to bypass the $3 million Cox Plate with star colt Press Statement while announcing the three jockeys to ride his trio of runners in the weight-for-age feature.
Waller named his Cox Plate team as being Winx, Preferment and Kermadec.
"At this stage, Glen Boss will partner Kermadec whilst Hugh Bowman and Blake Shinn have been engaged to ride for the stable in the race," Waller said in a release.
"A decision has not been made on which horses they will
Waller said he believes Press Statement would "certainly have been very competitive" in the Cox Plate but after discussions with the horse's owners it was decided his time will come in 2016.
"There is no guarantee that running would provide career longevity
"In only six months since his debut he has captured multiple Group I wins highlighted on Saturday with his dominant victory in the Caulfield Guineas and we feel he has justified his position as one of the best colts in the country."
Waller also said a decision is still to be finalised on Spring Champion Stakes-winning colt Vanbrugh running in the Group I Victoria Derby on October 31.
"A decision is yet to be made on a Derby start," he said.
"It is our intention to make a decision in consultation with the owners over the coming days and we will notify the media and officials once a final decision has been made."
