One
of our most popular foal stories from 2010 revolved around a mare saved from a
possible trip to the knackery by teacher and bloodstock enthusiast Peter Brown,
who enjoyed a much longed for trip to the winner's circle at Sale on Thursday.
Read the story here about Happy Henrietta and her colt by Melbourne Cup hero
Kingston Rule (USA).
It's been a long time coming, but today must have been a magic day for Mr Brown
with five year-old gelding Dreidel returning from a spell with a win at Sale
over 1411 metres.
Trained at Cranbourne by Gary Mallinson, Dreidel settled back in the field and
came with a strong late rush to win by a head at his fifth start.
Being by a Melbourne Cup winner, one would think further will suit Dreidel even
better and this win will be a big confidence builder for him and his
connections!
