Second Australian Winner for Uncle Mo

Tara Madgwick - Friday November 27
Coolmore based US sire sensation Uncle Mo (USA) made it two Australian winners from his first two runners when Motime saluted on debut at Canberra on Friday.

Motime as a yearlingPrepared on the track by Gratz Vella, Motime was fifth in a barrier trial on his home track earlier this month, but improved on race day to take the 1000 metre maiden from Cliff, who is by another Coolmore based first season sire in Canford Clifffs (IRE), a regular shuttler to Blue Gum Farm in Victoria.

Motime looked a real professional, jumping well for Kayla Nisbet from gate one to hold the fence albeit settling behind the two leaders.

When shown clear running in the straight he powered to the line to win by two lengths in a very encouraging debut.

Motime was a modest $15,000 Inglis Classic purchase for his trainer from the Middlebrook Valley Lodge draft and is the first foal of My Thousand, am unraced Foreplay mare from the family of brilliant sprinters Hot as Hell, Craig's Dragon, Flaming Hot and Harlem River.

A former Champion US 2YO, Uncle Mo will finish 2015 as Champion First Crop Sire in North America and Champion Sire of Two Year Olds, so there is now a considerable degree of anticipation surrounding his Australian bred offspring.

Uncle Mo has a dozen yearlings entered for the 2016 Magic Millions and seven for Inglis Classic.
