A
Group I winning son of Commands, Darley's promising young sire Skilled put his
first winner on the board in Tasmania on Sunday with a debut victory for Little
Elsa.
Prepared by Terence Evans, Little Elsa was second in a recent trial and
galloped away from her rivals in the 1000 metre maiden to win by two and a half
lengths.
A $10,000 Inglis VOBIS Gold purchase for her trainer from the Stonehurst Farm draft,
Little Elsa is the fourth winner from four foals to race from Cape Cross (IRE)
mare Walvis Bay, who was covered by another of the young Darley sires last spring in
Kuroshio.
A stunning near black stallion very reminiscent of his sire, Skilled has five entries for the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale.
