New
Zealand Horse of the Year Jimmy Choux posted his first Australian winner at
Bathurst on Sunday with a strong win for the John Sargent trained filly
Echappe.
An unlucky fourth on debut at Scone last month, Echappe was a short priced
favourite for the 1100 metre juvenile open event and won by three parts of a
length.
Not offered at auction, Echappe runs for the Sargent family and Nearco Stud and
is entered for stakes races over the Sydney Autumn Carnival including the Group
I ATC Sires Produce Stakes.
She is the second winner for stakes-winning juvenile Fasline, whose yearling
colt by All Too Hard sold for $220,000 at the Magic Millions Sale earlier this
year.
Echappe is the third winner overall for Rich Hill Stud based Jimmy Choux joining New Zealand based stakes-winner
Manolo Blahniq and stakes-placed What Choux Want.
