Vale, Hussonet

Tara Madgwick - Monday March 21
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of former Australian Champion Sire HUSSONET (USA) to a stroke this morning.

HussonetBeing born in 1991 he has had an amazing life… racing in the USA and standing at stud in South America, transferring to Arrowfield Stud in New South Wales in 2003, before spending the past five years at Cornerstone Stud in the Barossa Valley, South Australia.

HUSSONET's tally of 30 Group One winners (and counting) is a truly amazing achievement.

His legacy will continue through his daughters and sons at stud. His reputation as a top class broodmare sire is quickly gaining momentum and achieved recent high profile success when one of his daughters produced the Group I MRC Blue Diamond Stakes winner Extreme Choice.

The team at Cornerstone Stud we would like to thank shareholders and clients very much for their support of HUSSONET and the Stud over the past few years.

Whilst he has lived to a great age of twenty-five, it is always difficult saying goodbye to a legend who was so dear to all our hearts here at Cornerstone.

We welcome visitors to call by the farm any time if you wish to pay your respects to a very special horse.
