The
Group II SA Fillies Nursery at Turffontein on Saturday was won by progressive Australian
bred filly Fursa, whose dam will be offered for sale at the Inglis Broodmare
Sale this week.
A well-seasoned filly with four previous runs under her belt for two seconds
and a last start victory, Fursa took the 1160 metre contest by a length and a
quarter for the Mike de Kock stable.
A $48,000 Inglis Premier purchase for Form Bloodstock from the Yarran draft,
she runs for Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa's Al Adiyaat South Africa (Pty) Ltd in
his familiar yellow and blue colours.
By former Darley Victoria shuttler Hard Spun (USA), she is a half-sister to
stakes-placed Dominating and is the fourth winner for Red Princess, a daughter
of Group III winner Princess Plume.
The current yearling from Red Princess, a colt by Snitzel, was sold at Inglis
Premier this year for $155,000 with NZ based Diamond Lodge the buyer.
Red Princess is due to foal again to Snitzel this spring and will be offered at
the Inglis Broodmare Sale this Wednesday as Lot 467 by Middlebrook Valley
Lodge.
Fursa is the 49th stakes-winner for Hard Spun, who shuttled to
Australia for six seasons, the last time in 2013.
Also breaking his maiden at Kenilworth was two year-old New Approach (IRE) colt
A New Dawn, who scored for the Joey Ramsden stable over 1400 metres by a length
and a half at her second start.

Sunday, a sibling to stakes-winners That's a Good Idea and Kneeling from the
family of Danehill.
