New Addition to Newgate Team

Media Release - Friday May 6
Newgate Farm are pleased to announce a new addition to the team with Kiwi born and bred Dominic Corban commencing in May as Sales Consignment and Yearling Manager.

"Thoroughbred horses have been Dominic's passion for his entire life and that commitment and enthusiasm for our industry make him the perfect candidate to join us at Newgate Farm," said Henry Field.

Born and bred in Cambridge, New Zealand, Dominic grew up on Sir Patrick Hogan's world renowned Cambridge Stud.

Upon finishing school at St Johns College, he took up a position at Cambridge Stud as a stud hand where he learned all about the stud's day to day operations.

After spending the 2009 breeding season working with Coolmore Ireland in the stallion division, Dominic received the NZTBA Sunline International Management Scholarship.

The Scholarship took Dominic around the world allowing him to learn from some of the best international thoroughbred operations in the world including Cheveley Park Stud, Coolmore Ireland, and Taylor Made Sales.

Upon completion, Dominic returned to Cambridge Stud as head of the broodmare division.

In charge of all the conformation development of Cambridge's young stock alongside legendary master farrier Laurie Lynch, Dominic also had the opportunity to inspect and judge stock at all the major Australian yearling sales with top bloodstock agents Paul Moroney, James Bester and champion trainer Peter Moody.

For the past three years, Dominic has overseen the development of Tavistock's progeny as yearling manager at Cambridge Stud.

"I look forward to growing further with such a progressive farm and team," said Corban.
