Astute
Canberra trainer Nick Olive can get the best out of a good filly as we've seen
with Single Gaze and he produced an interesting winner on Friday at Canberra
that won by a big space and has a Golden Slipper winning dam.
High Chaparral (IRE) filly Calaway Cruizer lacked strength in her last
preparation running four seconds in a row before being sent to the paddock in
December.
It was a new look filly that returned in the 1400 metre maiden, bolting away to
win by nearly six lengths as a short priced favourite.
A $50,000 Inglis Easter purchase for her trainer from the Middlebrook Valley Lodge
draft, Calaway Cruizer is the fifth winner from six foals to race from
brilliant Golden Slipper winner Calaway Gal.
Calaway Gal has a yearling filly to follow by So You Think.
