Following
a landmark weekend at the Curragh where he sired Group I Irish 1,000 Guineas
winner Jet Setting and Godolphin's Group II Ridgewood Pearl Stakes winner
Devonshire, Danehill Dancer stallion Fast Company is joining the Darley CLUB
and will stand at Kildangan Stud in 2017.
A brilliant two year-old that won the Group III York Acomb Stakes and was
second in the Group I Newmarket Dewhurst Stakes from just three starts, Fast
Company has made an encouraging start to his stud career with just three crops
to race.
Even before last weekend's racing, Fast Company had enjoyed a burgeoning
reputation.
His first-crop yearlings included a £210,000 colt at Doncaster and the €100,000
sales topper at the Goffs Sportsman's sale.
Those two horses –Baitha AlgaandDevonshire– have both
struck at Group II level: Baitha Alga won the Group II Norfolk Stakes at Royal
Ascot while Devonshire was placed in last season's Group I Irish 1,000 Guineas
behind Pleasach before winning her Group II and now has Group I targets in her
four-year-old campaign.
Fast Company's second crop is continuing the good work. His highest price of
2014 was the £140,000 given by Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum for Taqdeer, now rated
112p by Timeform and Royal Ascot-bound.
Sam Bullard, Director of Stallions, said: "Fast Company is a stallion on the
up. He could be a very valuable sire in the future, in the manner of an Iffraaj
or Kodiac. We are selling Lifetime Breeding Rights – so popular with our CLUB
stallions – because we want to give breeders the chance to join in the
opportunity of helping to raise him to the next level. The price ensures that
breeders will benefit - and we will too."
Fast Company has spent five years at Rathasker Stud before moving to Overbury
Stud for the 2016 covering season, where he is standing for a fee of £4,000.
