Rare Gem from Newgate Farm

Breednet - Tuesday May 31
The most successful and expensive sire in North America is the charismatic grey champion Tapit and Newgate Farm are proud to present the one and only mare to be offered in foal to him at public auction in Australia this year at the 2016 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale next week.

TapitStanding at Gainesway in Kentucky, Tapit commands a fee of $US300,000 in the US and this is why.

The Champion Sire in North America for 2014 and 2015, Tapit is leading the way again this year with 11 stakes-winners on the board and progeny earnings topping $7.7 million.

With 10.3% stakes-winners to runners, 15 year-old Tapit is the real deal and his tally of 79 stakes-winners includes 17 Group I winners.

To be offered by Newgate Farm as Lot 721 is Morning Fix (USA), a three time winner and Group III place-getter at Santa Anita.

In foal to Tapit on a September 6 service in her first season at stud, Morning Fix is completely free of Danzig blood and comes from the family of Group I Kentucky Oaks winner Summerly.

Tapit will give this exciting young matron a scintillating start to her stud career and then she is a prime contender to visit any of the top stallions in Australia going forward.

Morning Fix highlights a stellar draft of 33 mares from Newgate Farm, many of them in foal to the farm's red hot young sires Dissident, Wandjina and Deep Field. Click here to see the full draft.
