Unbeaten
superstar Frankel broke through for his first stakes-winner in the UK overnight
when his daughter Fair Eva captured the Group III Princess Margaret Stakes at Ascot beating Sepoy filly Kilmah.
A homebred for Juddmonte Farms, who bred and raced Frankel, Fair Eva was the first
runner by the champion for Juddmonte so it is most fitting she should also be
his first stakes-winner.
Trained by Roger Charlton, Fair Eva won her debut at Haydock in June and raced
right away to win this six furlong sprint by four lengths as a hot favourite
with Frankie Dettori in the saddle.
"Fair Eva has done everything really professionally and looks very good," said
Charlton.
"She has a wonderful action and, like most Frankels, takes a bit of pulling up
after the winning post, which is a good sign. She could clearly go another
furlong and let´s hope next year she might go a mile. She is in the Moyglare, a
race Frankie mentioned when he got off. I wouldn´t really want to run her on
soft ground because she has such a good action."
One of seven winners for Frankel, Fair Eva is the second winner for Group I
winning sprinter African Rose, a close relation to Group I winner Distant View
by Observatory.
Frankel has a handful of rising Southern Hemisphere time bred two year-olds
here in Australia and their progress will be keenly monitored.
Five of them were sold at Australasian sales for up to $1.6 million, click

champion mare More Joyous, a filly that has been named Woman.
