Newgate
Farm shuttler The Factor (USA) sired his second winner in the US on the weekend
with a runaway debut winner in Iron Mane for renowned globe-trotting trainer Wesley
Ward.
A homebred for Calumet Farm, Iron Mane stalked the leader and then zoomed
through on the inside to dash right away and win the five furlong turf maiden
at Indiana Grand by six and three-quarter lengths
Iron Mane is a sibling to Group III winner Cause to Believe and stakes-winner Imaginary
Sailor being the eighth winner from terrific producer Imaginary Cat.
An explosive grey dual Group I winning son of War Front, The Factor returns to
Newgate this spring at a fee of $16,500 and will have his first Australian bred
yearlings at sales in 2017.
