Oxley Island Speed Stallions

Media Release - Thursday July 28
Standing a thoroughbred stallion in the breed to race sector of the market can be challenging and Oxley Island Thoroughbreds have taken steps to ensure their young guns Direct Charge and Polarmore stand out from the crowd.

Foals conceived in the upcoming 2016 breeding season by either stallion currently standing at Oxley Island Thoroughbreds, DIRECT CHARGE or POLARMORE, have the chance to win a huge bonus purse of $100,000 by winning just one race as a two year old, because of their parentage.

In association with Taree Race Club and the cooperation of Racing NSW, "THE OXLEY ISLAND THOROUGHBREDS TWO YEAR OLD OPEN 1000" for two year olds resulting from a 2016 mating will be held on the mid north coast around Golden Slipper time in 2020.

Direct ChargeIf this race is won by the progeny of either DIRECT CHARGE or POLARMORE, the winning owners will receive a $100,000 bonus!

This exciting new race offers breeders the chance to compete for possibly the highest prize money on offer for two year olds in Country Racing. This is sure to see the challenge taken up by many owners and trainers and make it a hotly contested race.

"Both Stallions have outstanding pedigree and performance behind them to suggest they will be more than capable of throwing precocious types that will run early. This race offers breeders a chance to compete for some really exciting prize money with their two year old in country racing. It would be wonderful to get a Slipper runner, but if not, this will be a really great alternative for small breeders!" said Oxley Island Thoroughbreds' Steve Fell.

PolarmoreThe big decision for owners hoping to win the $100,000 is which stallion to choose.

DIRECT CHARGE is by speed sire Charge Forward and was up and going as a spring two year old and won the Group III VRC Maribyrnong Plate 1000m at Flemington on debut.

POLARMORE is a city winner by champion two year-old sire More Than Ready (USA), out of Golden Slipper winner Polar Success.

Both Stallions stand at just $2,200 offering breeders incredible value.

Both Stallions are also BOBS nominated offering even further incentive for breeders.
