From Last to First Mamma Does It Again

Mark Smith - Saturday October 1

Coming off the back of a victory in the Group II Let's Elope Stakes (1400m), Don't Doubt Mamma was at her brilliant best again when coming from last to win Friday night's Group II Stock Stakes (1600m) at Moonee Valley.

Ridden by Dwayne Dunn for trainer Tony McEvoy, Don't Doubt Mamma came widest on the turn to overhaul Kaniana by a long-neck with the front running Miss Rose De Lago three-quarter of a length back in third. (photo Grant Courtney).

McEvoy said a Group I is the main goal for the daughter of Not A Single Doubt this spring and is eyeing off the Group 1 Myer Classic (160 Group 1 Myer Classic (1600m) on Victoria Derby Day.

"The Myer's her race, McEvoy said.

"She's very good at a mile, it's a big Group 1 against the mares and she probably won't run before it."

In winning her fifth stakes race, Don't Doubt Mamma advances her overall record to 7 wins, 1 second and 3 thirds from 16 starts with earnings of $640,610.

Bred by Dean Fleming, Don't Doubt Mamma is a sister to Listed  winner Risen From Doubt.
