Hamdan’s Shadwell operation unleashed yet another successful Inglis Easter
purchase at Vaal in South Africa on Thursday with an impressive win for Sebring
colt Alaadel.
The Mike de Kock trained three year-old improved on his debut second at the
same venue last month to stride away and win the 1400 metre maiden by more than
two lengths as favourite.
A $260,000 Inglis Easter purchase from the Broadwater Thoroughbreds draft for
Shadwell, Alaadel is the second winner from Seeking Sunshine (USA), a winning
Seeking the Gold mare from the family of Group I winner Missed the Storm.
Seeking Sunshine produced a colt by Dissident this spring that is a
three-quarter brother to Alaadel, so his breeder Kerry O’Brien will be hoping this
first win is one of many.
