Purchased
for $320,000 by Belmont Bloodstock from the Yarraman Park draft at the 2013
Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale, Al Maher filly Silverstream is the most
expensive yearling for her sire ever sold and showed again why she was worth
the money when powering home to win the Listed WATC Jungle Dawn Classic at
Ascot on Saturday.
Prepared by Grant Williams, Silverstream rebounded from some indifferent form
of late to post her sixth win from 19 starts in the 1400 metre fillies and mares feature, taking her earnings to just shy of
$240,000 in prizemoney.
Silverstream runs for popular WA based owners Bob and Sue Peters and is a full
sister to Group III AJC Adrian Knox Stakes winner Speedy Natalie.
Foaled and raised at Yarraman Park, she is one of seven winners from
stakes-winning Brocco (USA) mare Speedy Bell, whose current yearling, a colt by
I Am Invincible has been entered for the 2017 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling
Sale.
He is the last foal for Speedy Bell, who died earlier this year.
Silverstream becomes the 31st stakes-winner for Emirates Park
stalwart Al Maher.
