Stakes Double and Winners Galore for Yarraman Park

Tara Madgwick - Monday December 5
As we head towards the 2017 yearling sale season there can be no better yearling draft promotion than racetrack success and for Yarraman Park, last Saturday was a red letter day.

Horses bred/sold by Yarraman Park enjoyed stakes success on opposite sides of the country with Most Important winning the Group III BRC George Moore Stakes at Eagle Farm, while Silverstream captured the Listed WATC Jungle Dawn Classic at Ascot.

Most Important as a yearlingThe famous colours of well-known owners Graham and Linda Huddy were carried to victory by classy I Am Invincible four year-old gelding Most Important, a dominant winner of the $200,000 George Moore Stakes.

Stakes-placed twice previously, the Tony Gollan trained runner was overdue for a Black Type win and broke the ice in emphatic style.

Drawn the outside in the field of 11 for the 1200 metre sprint, he travelled midfield for Robbie Fradd and charged clear to win by two and three-quarter lengths.

Most Important was a $260,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Yarraman Park draft and has won five races and placed eight times from 22 starts earning over $377,000 in prizemoney.

A fine sixth in the Magic Millions 3YO Guineas last year to Mahuta, Tony Gollan will no doubt be eyeing off the rich race day at the Gold Coast in January again with this progressive gelding.

I Am InvincibleMost Important is the best of four winners for Orange Marmalade (NZ), a half-sister by Stravinsky (USA) to Group III winner Just a Dream from Group III winner Majestic Angel.

Yarraman Park sold the current two year-old from Orange Marmalade, another colt by I Am Invincible at Magic Millions this year for $500,000.

Orange Marmalade has a yearling filly by Hinchinbrook and is now in foal to I Am Invincible's brilliant son Super One.

Most Important was one of five winners on Saturday for I Am Invincible and is his 16th stakes-winners.

His other four winners on Saturday were all Yarraman bred/ sold - Lexgetreddy, Kiss the Condor, Unconquered and Invincible Al.

Purchased for $320,000 by Belmont Bloodstock from the Yarraman Park draft at the 2013 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale, Al Maher filly Silverstream is the most expensive yearling for her sire ever sold and showed again why she was worth the money when powering home to win the Listed WATC Jungle Dawn Classic at Ascot on Saturday.

Silverstream as a yearlingPrepared by Grant Williams, Silverstream rebounded from some indifferent form of late to post her sixth win from 19 starts taking her earnings to just shy of $240,000 in prizemoney.

Silverstream runs for popular WA based owners Bob and Sue Peters and is a full sister to Group III AJC Adrian Knox Stakes winner Speedy Natalie.

Foaled and raised at Yarraman Park, she is one of seven winners from stakes-winning Brocco (USA) mare Speedy Bell, whose current yearling, a colt by I Am Invincible has been entered for the 2017 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.

On a day when Yarraman Park bred/ sold horses were covering themselves in glory, progressive four year-old Hinchinbrook gelding Brooklyn Storm added to the success with a tenacious win at Eagle Farm for the Bjorn Baker stable.

Sent out favourite for the 1200 metre class three event, Brooklyn Storm did best in a tight finish to land his fourth win from 16 starts with prizemoney now topping $130,000.

A modest $22,000 Inglis Scone purchase from the Yarraman Park draft for his trainer, Brooklyn Storm has been a great investment for his owners delivering plenty of thrills and money along the way.

Don't miss the 2017 Magic Millions draft from Yarraman Park featuring 25 yearlings, 12 by I am Invincible and five by Hinchinbrook.
