Blueblood Mare Breaks Maiden

Four year-old More Than Ready (USA) mare Epitomise was the most expensive yearling filly by her sire sold in 2014 and broke the ice at Wyong on Wednesday.

Epitomise as a yearlingA $750,000 Inglis Easter purchase for Dean Hawthorne Bloodstock, Epitomise is prepared by Team Hawkes and runs for Pinecliff Racing and her breeder Bruce Neil of Cressfield.

Second when resuming from a spell at Newcastle last month, Epitomise stepped it up a notch with fitness on her side to win the 1200 metre maiden by a length.

Epitomise may be no superstar on the track, but she does have a super pedigree!

A half-sister to stakes-placed Selectify and Laser Flash she is the third winner for stakes-winning Galileo (IRE) mare Personify, a sibling to Group I winner Laisserfaire, Group III winner A Time for Julia and stakes-winner Foreplay.

Given the absence of Danehill in her pedigree, she will be an easy mare to mate when her racing days are done.

Cressfield have entered her yearling full brother for the 2017 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.
