The
Redoute’s Choice x Zabeel cross produced champion filly Samantha Miss and also
our ‘One to Watch ‘ at Randwick on Wednesday, a first starter trained by Gai
Waterhouse and Adrian Bott.
Well primed for her debut following two recent trials, Cassadee was given a
perfect ride by Tye Angland and raced just off the pace before powering clear
to win the 1400 metre maiden by two and a quarter lengths.
The talented filly carries the colours of George Altomonte’s Corumbene Stud,
but is not a homebred having been purchased at the Magic Millions from the
Arrowfield Stud draft by Corumbene for $280,000.
She is a half-sister to stakes-placed Donelle and is the second winner from
Avarice, a Zabeel three-quarter sister-in-blood to Group III winner Our Yangtze
River from the family of Group I winners Riverina Charm, Benfica and Neroli.
Corumbene Stud will be selling at the Magic Millions next week, presenting a
draft of 14 youngsters including the full brother to Golden Slipper winner Sebring.Click
