More Caviar

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday January 4
Tremendous interest worldwide in the New Year's Day debut of Black Caviar's first born foal Oscietra got us thinking about what else is coming along from this famous family.

Black Caviar with her Sebring colt in 2015Black Caviar herself is now in foal again for the fourth time, covered last spring by champion sire More Than Ready (USA), her fourth different partner in as many years.

Her other foals are a yearling colt by Sebring and a filly foal by Snitzel.

Her mother Helsinge was covered last year by Written Tycoon after missing the year before and sadly the filly she produced in 2015 by Canford Cliffs (IRE) has died.

Black Caviar has three younger sisters.

Three year-old Brigite (by Casino Prince) is still unraced, but did have a trial for Ciaron Maher last August.

Four year-old Naturale was retired unraced and missed to Wandjina in 2015, but appears to be in foal now to Written Tycoon.

Six year-old Belle Couture (by Redoute's Choice) topped Inglis Easter when fetching $2.6 million in 2012. She won a maiden at Caulfield from four starts and is now at stud.

Her first foal is a Pierro colt that has been entered for the 2017 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale by Newgate Farm and she produced a colt by I am Invincible last year before visiting Lonhro.
