New Benchmark for I Am Invincible

Tara Madgwick - Friday January 13
An outstanding colt by Yarraman Park's red hot sire I am Invincible from Admirelle set a new benchmark for his sire when selling for $900,000 at Magic Millions on Thursday to Tony McEvoy.

I Am Invincible colt from AdmirelleBred and consigned for sale by John Muir's Milburn Creek, the half-brother to Group I winner and promising young sire Sizzling was much admired and attracted spirited bidding.

"I really didn't wasn't to miss this colt, he's a beautiful, beautiful colt," McEvoy told Sky Racing.

"I've seen more of him this week than I've seen of my wife!

"It's tough on these young horses up here in the heat and he has the right temperament. He just keeps stepping out of his box and doing the right thing."

The final price probably fell a touch short of what might have been expected given this colt's older three year-old half-brother by Snitzel topped the 2015 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale when fetching $2.2 million to the bid of Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum.

Named Shaheen and trained by Peter and Paul Snowden, he is yet to race.

I Am Invincible is having an outstanding sale and midway through Friday afternoon had had 33 yearlings sell at an average $320,303.

His current crop of yearlings are conceived from a $27,500 service fee, so vendors are making a fortune from his success.
