Newhaven Park Bred Zac Sprinter 2016 Singapore Champion Sprinter

The Champion Sprinter of Singapore in 2014, now retired speedster Zac Spirit was awarded the title for the second time at a glittering awards ceremony in Singapore last night.

Zac Spirit - Singapore Turf ClubThe Cliff Brown trained son of Flying Spur won the Singapore Lion City Cup Sng Gr 1 in April last year for the second time before a recurrence of his previous injuries brought about his retirement.

A $140,000 Inglis Easter purchase from the Newhaven draft, Zac Spirit is from well related Kidman and was snapped up by his trainer Cliff Brown, who also trained his stakes-winning three-quarter brother Zac Influence.

Zac Spirit has seldom missed the mark winning 11 races and placings nine times from 22 starts.

A stakes-placed Quest for Fame (GB) mare from the family of outstanding racehorse and sire Zeditave, Kidman has a lovely yearling filly by Redoute's Choice that was sold last week by Newhaven Park at Magic Millions for $400,000 to Blue Sky Bloodstock.

Zac Spirit is enjoying his retirement back in the paddocks of Newhaven Park where he was foaled and raised.

His dam Kidman produced a colt by Exceed and Excel last year and is now in foal to Golden Slipper winner Vancouver.
