A total of 17 acceptances were received for Victoria’s premier two-year-old race at Caulfield on Saturday.

A field of 16 plus an emergency has been declared with 11 colts and geldings and six fillies in line for the major share of the $1.5 million in prizemoney.

The David and Ben Hayes and T Dabernig-trained Catchy was the $6 favourite when pre-final field markets closed.

The Hayes/Dabernig stable have six runners in the race while Tony McEvoy has accepted with three of his team’s juveniles. Sydney-based trainers Peter and Paul Snowden have two runners in the race.

Champion international jockeys Ryan Moore and Joao Moreira have also secured rides in the race and will show their wares against the likes of Damien Oliver, Kerrin McEvoy, Craig Williams, Blake Shinn, Luke Nolen, Dwayne Dunn and Ben Melham.
