First Shamus Awards Highlight Golden Grove

Ultra Thoroughbreds owner Sean Buckley and business partner Viv Oldfield (G&C Pastoral Co), have enjoyed the highs of racing with some outstanding horses over the years including Cox Plate and Australian Guineas winner Shamus Award, whose first crop yearlings are a highlight of their jointly owned Golden Grove draft at the 2017 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale.

Shamus AwardBased at Denman in the Hunter Valley, Golden Grove are offering eight yearlings, five of which are by Shamus Award.

Since his retirement to Widden Stud in 2014, the champion son of Snitzel has been well supported by a wide spread of breeders including Mr Buckley and Mr Oldfield, who have given the $2.4 million earner a second to none chance at success by sending him some of their best mares.

The best son of the current leading sire in the country in Snitzel, Shamus Award has already had yearlings sell for up to $400,000 this year and has a large and impressive consignment for Inglis Premier.

Golden Grove will offer the five yearlings by Shamus Award pictured below and see them at Barn E Stables 73 – 84.:
