Duporth Moves to Kooringal Stud

Media Release - Thursday April 6

Stuart Lamont of Kooringal is delighted to announce that Group One-winning stallion Duporth will stand at Kooringal from the 2017 season.

DuporthFrom just four crops of racing age Duporth has sired Group One Australian Guineas (1600m) winner HEY DOC, Group Three Hong Kong Macau Trophy (1400m) winner DASHING FELLOW, the Listed All Victorian Series Final (1200m) winner RUETTIGER, as well as the multiple Group One-placed juvenile Cornrow and the Stakes performers Inkling and Wingold.

More than capable of siring precocious 2YOs (20 winners from 65 runners to-date), what appeals most about Duporth is the trainability and soundness of his progeny.

He has sired 72% winners to runners with his oldest crop who are 5YOs of 2016-17 and the 71 runners who make up that crop have each averaged over $85,000 in earnings to-date.

Duporth has also proven that he is capable of upgrading his mares – take for example his two Group One horses; Hey Doc is the only Stakes winner under his first three dams while Cornrow is the only Group One performer under his first four dams.

Duporth is also a sire in demand in the ring, in 2017 to-date Duporth has had 10 yearlings go through the sale rings at Magic Millions, Inglis Classic and Melbourne Premier, and all 10 have sold, with a top of $210,000 and an average of $74,600.

Duporth 2017 stud fee is $7,700 and will join Magic Albert, The Brothers War and Zariz at Kooringal.
