A
runaway maiden winner at Warrnambool back in February, the Darren Weir trained
So You Think colt Think Babe was a hot favourite at Ballarat on Wednesday.
Taking on the older horses in a Benchmark 64 event over 1400 metres, Think Babe
did best in a tight finish to win by a short head and will no doubt take plenty
of improvement from the run.
Bred and retained to race by Australian Thoroughbred Bloodstock's Darren and
Liz Dance and partners, Think Babe has two wins and a second from three starts.
He is the first winner for minor winning Savabeel mare Savababe, a daughter of
stakes-winner Thursday's Child.
He continues a great winning run for So You Think, who has surged in recent
months to take over at the top of the Australian Second Season Sires List.
His progeny have been headlined by Group I winners Inference and La Bella Diosa
as well as smart staying stakes-winner Northwest Passage.
So You Think's service fee has been raised to $60,500 this year by Coolmore on
the back of his burgeoning success.
