Inglis Confirm 2018 Sales Dates

Media Release - Thursday April 27
Inglis can today confirm its 2018 Sale dates, which feature an expanded Classic Yearling Sale, a revamped Easter Yearling Sale, the retention of the highly successful Chairman's Sale (Sessions I and II) and more monthly online auctions.

The changes reflect the opportunity to grow catalogues and minimise gaps between sales with the extra stabling at Riverside Stables.

The select sales season begins with a four-day Classic Sale from Saturday February 10 – one day longer than 2017 - which kicks off proceedings at the new $140m Riverside Stables facility at Warwick Farm.

Classic will have two Books as we currently have at Premier and Easter;Book 1 will have approximately 600 Lots and Book 2 will have around 200 Lots.

The Premier Yearling Sale follows – from March 4-7 – at Oaklands in Melbourne, a week later than previous years, to allow buyers and vendors more time to prepare.

The early March timeslot for Premier coincides with Group I racing at Flemington and provides even spacing between all three major yearling sales conducted by Inglis, one at the start of February, March and April.

It's then back to Sydney for a blockbuster fortnight of action; Chairman's Sale – Racing Prospects, Australian Easter Yearling Sale, Chairman's Sale – Breeding Prospects and Australian Broodmare & Weanling Sale.

The 2018 Easter Yearling Sale will run from Sunday-Tuesday, April 8-10, immediately after The Championships Day 1.

The Sunday afternoon start for Easter next year will take advantage of the enhanced hospitality facilities and space at Riverside Stables, allowing a bigger crowd to attend kicking off on a Sunday.

The Sunday-Tuesday format for Easter also ensures there is no clash with midweek racing in Sydney during the Easter Sale, and allows the Wednesday to serve as an inspection day for The Chairman's Sale Session II(Breeding Prospects) which will commence on the Thursday of that week, April 12.

Racing on that Wednesday will be at Warwick Farm which will be most convenient.

To assist vendors and all our clients in securing accommodation within close proximity to Riverside Stables, Inglis has appointed Marketing Operations Specialist Tanita Vella as a liaison officer who will work closely with all interested parties to make the task as easy and seamless as possible.

Tanita is available for any enquires and to help with or make accommodation bookings, be it a hotel, apartment, house or anything else that suits.

Priority for rooms at The William Inglis Hotel will be for buyers and principals/managers of stud farms attending each sale.
