One to Watch – Gosford

Tara Madgwick - Thursday May 4
It was a syndicate of heavy hitters in the bloodstock world that cheered home this impressive son of All Too Hard at Gosford on Thursday.

Allied Power as a yearlingPrepared by Peter and Paul Snowden, two year-old colt Allied Power found conditions to suit in the 1100 metre maiden and opened his account with a stylish victory.

Hampered by wet tracks at two of his three previous starts, it was proving hard to get a line on Allied Power, but he showed his true colours on Thursday.

Allowed to find his feet by Mitchell Bell, Allied Power surged home out wide from a clear last before the turn to win running away by two lengths.

It was a thoroughly dominant display and will have him winning far better races as his career unfolds.

A $470,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Vinery Stud draft for China Horse Club, Allied Power runs for a syndicate comprising China Horse Club, Newgate Farm, Aquis Farm, Horse Ventures and Winstar Farm.

Bred by Vinery, he is the first winner for Group II winning General Nediym mare Night War, a half-sister to dual Group I winner Samaready.

Vinery Stud sold the full brother to Allied Power at Inglis Premier this year for $140,000 and she has a weanling filly to follow, also by All Too Hard.

Allied Power is the third winner for All Too Hard, who has a long list of promising place-getters that could easily convert to being winners before the season ends on July 31.

The four-time Group I winning half-brother to Black Caviar stands at Vinery Stud this spring at the slightly reduced fee of $44,000.
