The lingering effects of travel sickness
Jameka returned to trainer Ciaron Maher's Caulfield stable with a respiratory condition following her 6-1/2 length defeat of Humidor in the Group I BMW over 2400m at Rosehill on March 25.
Connections had harboured European ambitions before a spring campaign but Maher announced on Friday the four-year-old daughter of Myboycharlie would need a lengthy period of rehabilitation and would miss the carnival.
"Unfortunately Jameka will need an extended break to recover from her recent illness and will miss the Spring Carnival." Maher tweeted on Friday.
Jameka won last year's Caulfield Cup following her victory in the VRC Oaks the previous season and is currently rated 120 on the World Rankings list, second only to Dubai Sheema Classic winner Jack Hobbs in the Long classification.
