Fifth Stakes Winner for Sepoy
Mark Smith - Sunday, 4 June 2017

After placings in the Group III Oh So Sharp Stakes at Newmarket and the Group III Nell Gwyn Stakes on the same track, Sepoy's Unforgetable Filly was far from disgraced when sixth in the Group I One Thousand Guineas won by Winter.

Dropped back in distance to seven furlongs the Hugo Palmer-trained filly had her moment in the sun when finishing strongly to claim Saturday's Listed Maggie Dickson Stakes at Musselburgh.

Ridden by Josephine Gordon, Unforgetable Filly came clear in the final stages to defeat Pirouette (Pivotal) by one and three-quarter lengths with Glitter Girl (Invincible Spirit) a nose back in third.

Still searching for his first stakes winner in Australia, Darley Stud's Golden Slipper hero Sepoy posted his fifth stakes winner in Europe.

Unforgetable Filly is the fourth winner from as many foals out of the Oasis Dream mare Beautiful Filly whose dam Royal Alchemist (Royal Academy) is a half-sister to Group I Sprint Cup winner Dowsing and Grade I Beverley D Stakes winner Fire The Groom the dam of Group I July Cup and Group I Nunthorpe Stakes winner and successful stallion Stravinsky (USA).
