Prospective purchasers have been busy inspecting weanlings in bright sunshine ahead of the opening session of the Inglis Great Southern Sale at Oaklands on Sunday.
More than 900 horses will be offered during the four-day sale at Oaklands Junction with the first two days comprising 459 weanlings.
The sale has offspring by 22 first crop stallions including Newgate Farm trio Dissident (Sebring), Deep Field (Northern Meteor) and Wandjina (Snitzel) and Coolmore Stud-based Rubick (Encosta De Lago).
From Victoria Swettenham Stud-based Puissance de Lune (Shamardal) and Toronado (High Chaparral), Darley's Brazen Beau (I Am Invincible) and Lauriston Park Stud's Rock Hero (Fastnet Rock) also have their first crop of weanlings at the Great Southern sale.
The supplementary catalogue totals 98 lots and includes the winning imported mare Baqaat (Alhaarth), a half-sister to Listed Masaka Stakes winner Nasij and offered in foal to Glass Harmonium.
Lindsay Park Racing will offer several racing prospects in the supplementary including the Melbourne and Adelaide winner Shaf as well as Ocean Grove, a winning Fastnet Rock daughter of Listed winner Lisson Grove.
