Finnie said he was bracing himself for more bad luck after his Spin The Knife had finished out of a place as a short-priced favourite in the Magic Millions WA 3yo Trophy.

“I had a mongrel of a day up until now, so I was happy to see her flying down the outside,” Finnie said.

‘She has done a great job, is a great horse. Justin (Warwick) picked her out at the sales, and she has been nothing but a gem.

“She showed a lot of grit today. She is going places.“

Consigned by Mt Hallowell Stud to the Perth Magic Millions Yearling Sale, Sheeza Belter failed to make her $50,000 reserve.

Sheeza Belter left the ring unsold before being sold to Justin Warwick

She is the third winner from as many to race out of the winning Saxon mare Saxonbelle a half-sister to Group III ATC Southern Cross Stakes and Group III Newcastle JC Newmarket Hcp winner Special Reward, Group III WATC Sires' Produce Stakes winner Showy Chloe (Alfred Nobel) and Listed winner El Rijes (Eternity Range).

With just 41 live foals in his first crop, Gold Standard also sired Golden Queen, who finished second in debut at Sandown in December.
