Wootton Bassett – Great Expectations!

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday July 27

A Tweet from elite Hunter Valley nursery Cressfield on Wednesday heralding the arrival of their first foal of the season got us thinking about the stellar crop of foals that breeders around Australia will be seeing this spring by Coolmore’s exciting shuttle sire Wootton Bassett (GB).

Covered on September 2 last year, Cressfield homebred Fastnet Rock mare Misstook was among the first of 188 mares to visit the outstanding son of Iffraaj at a fee of $71,500.

Bred in the purple, Misstook is an unraced sister to multiple Group I placed Group III winner Missrock, who made $2.3million at the 2019 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale, and undefeated current season stakes-winner Passive Aggressive.

There will be plenty of gorgeous babies born in Australia this spring by Wootton Bassett (GB), click for more info.)

Wootton Bassett covered some of the finest mares in the country last spring, so will have a second to none chance of achieving dual hemisphere success and we have detailed the Black Type mares in his 2021 book as below.
